A lone raindrop quivers delicately
on the periphery of a fallen, unfurling leaf,
refracting the colour of spring's
lofty sigh of relief
as it exhales winter's poignant
bittersweet memory
The sun sensually caresses earth's
exposed surface of skin
and I shed each layer
of story
that in hibernation I had
wrapped tightly around me
History's ashes
swirl around the air
for one final performance,
lifting the veil of darkness
to help me remember
all that I am,
revealing in it's wake
the ethereal,
celestial radiance
this corporeal vessel
can choose to carry
into the blackest of night
to set the world ablaze
transfixed in the gaze of
auroral delight.
