From Peace to Pieces

War destroys, 
disintegrates
Peace to ashes,
dust upon dust
One body laid out over another,
one life devalued by the other 


Words and images
twisted and turned,
manipulate and generate
bloodlust


All you hear from
the screams,
the chorus,
the litany;
"In God we trust"


Save my soul,
don't let their god take control.
